About Rockville Housing Enterprises

Rockville Housing Enterprises (RHE), established in 1955 as the Housing Authority of the City of Rockville, MD is the Public Housing Authority (PHA) servicing the City of Rockville, MD. RHE assists low and moderate-income individuals and families to transform their lives by providing affordable rental and homeownership housing opportunities to its residents.

As an independent agency that functions under state law, RHE was created by the Rockville Mayor and Council to investigate the need for building and administering such affordable housing in the City as is found to be necessary. Oversight is provided by the RHE Board of Commissioners who are appointed by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Rockville.

New Executive Director of
Rockville Housing Enterprises Announced

Rockville Housing Enterprises is excited to announce a significant addition to its leadership team. Dr. James Hedrick has been appointed as the new Interim Executive Director of Rockville Housing Enterprises, where he will play a crucial role in driving the company’s strategic initiatives and fostering continued growth.

Dr. James Hedrick brings a wealth of experience and expertise to RHE, backed by a proven track record of success in the housing industry. He served as a member and later as Chair of the RHE Board of Directors from 2017 to 2024. Additionally, he has spent the last decade as a Senior Financial Analyst at the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). His background also includes several years at HUD in the mid-2000s, where he worked as a technical assistance provider before moving to FHFA.

His visionary approach, strategic mindset, and passion for excellence align perfectly with our company’s values and objectives. Rockville Housing Enterprises Celebrates Grand Re-Opening of Parkside Landing

September 2022
The Mayor and Council celebrated the reopening of Parkside Landing Apartments in September. Originally built in 1961 as Fireside Park Apartments, a 2018 fire destroyed three of the buildings, comprising 32 apartments, displacing families. The property has been owned by Rockville Housing Enterprises, the housing authority for the City of Rockville, since 2012. Read more about the grand re-opening >
