Maintenance Repair Requests

Residents who require maintenance services in their homes should call (301) 424-6265 during normal work hours to request a work order. Residents are not charged for work order completion unless the maintenance technician determines the work was required due to resident damage or neglect.

After normal work hours, RHE will respond only to life and health-threatening situations such as gas leaks, no heat, or no operating toilet. The after hours number is (703) 535-1740. If a maintenance technician is called to a resident's home and the situation is not judged to be an emergency, the resident will be charged for the technician's time and transportation expenses.

Public Housing Resident Counselor

A full-time Resident Counselor, Florence Cole, is available to assist public housing residents to obtain any services they may need such as employment preparation, educational opportunities, food and clothing support, substance abuse treatment and other mental health services, etc. In addition to providing referrals, the Resident Counselor assists the David Scull Courts Resident Council to conduct a variety of programs to meet residents' educational and recreational needs. For example, recently Ms. Cole wrote a successful grant application to obtain a computer lab for the David Scull Courts Community Center. In addition to offering a variety of job preparation and budgeting workshops, a video games night now is conducted at the David Scull Community Center every other Friday evening. Public housing residents are encouraged to contact Ms. Florence Cole, Resident Counselor, at (301) 424-6265 to request her services or to obtain additional information about scheduled programs.
