RHE Public Housing Resident Council

The RHE Resident Council has been active since 2002 promoting and advancing the interests and well being of all the residents of the RHE. Towards that end, the Resident Council:

  • Provides a forum where issues can be discussed and information distributed.
  • Provides a means to organize and manage neighborhood projects and programs.
  • Serves as a communication link to advocate the issues and concerns of residents with RHE management.
  • Represents the interest of the community before the RHE Board of Commissioners, governmental agencies and other outside organizations.
  • Supports and promotes programs and services, including applying for and receiving grants, to assist residents towards self-sufficiency.
  • Builds positive relationships with RHE, the City of Rockville, businesses, churches and other community organizations.

The Resident Council meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 5:30 pm at the David Scull Community Center, 1201 First Street, Rockville. All residents are welcome to attend the meetings, participate in available programs such as the mentoring program, Sistah Speaks, job training and other educational programs, holiday parties and other celebrations sponsored by the Council.

For Council contact information, call Florence Cole, Resident Counselor, at (301) 424-6265.

Please join the RHE Resident Council Facebook group, open to all Public Housing residents and Housing Choice Voucher Program participants.
